JOB DESCRIPTION:
"Luggers" are the important front-line folks of our business. Do you have a desire to help others while also saving the environment? Are you passionate about GREEN practices? Do you look busy all the time? Would you like to put that energy to good use in a team working in a fast-paced environment and interacting with our valued customers, partners, and teammates? Execute established processes, and once mastered, take new Luggers under your wing, teaching and leading them to be successful.
The Junkluggers is a caring alternative to traditional furniture and junk removal with a commitment to enhance lives, the community & the environment by donating & recycling unwanted items from residents and businesses and by supporting local charities.
The amount of household and commercial waste that ends up in landfills on a daily basis is astronomical. We believe that a lot of this is avoidable, and with just a little attention to detail — and a lot of love for our planet, we can help reverse this growing problem.
At first glance, this role might *seem* like it's just about removing items from a home or business. THIS IS NOT THAT. In order to be a successful Lugger, you will need to be a people-person - ready to put a smile on our customers' faces by providing exceptional customer service. On any given day, you will be helping people in our community who are downsizing, dealing with the loss of a loved one, feeling overwhelmed to part with sentimental items they no longer need, and so much more. You will need to be empathetic to EVERY customer, EVERY time.

You must be friendly, highly motivated, and able to communicate effectively with our valued customers, partners, and teammates. You are an energetic, well-organized, customer-centric problem solver and goal-oriented team player who loves a challenging and fun environment. You must also be physically fit and able to lift substantial weight. Added bonus if you have experience driving a small truck and moving furniture / heavy items.
You are someone who cares about others and the environment and gets excited about getting customers' items to those who can benefit from them and keeping customers’ items out of the landfill. You have the ability to recognize the value of items and will treat them with care.
You are looking to work hard, own your paycheck, and gain hands-on business experience. You are excited to join a team that strives to AMAZE every customer with exceptional customer service. You are committed to reaching your full potential in a supportive learning environment.
You like working in the field and from the truck all day; this is NOT an office position (although there are some basic administrative responsibilities).
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Help Customers! Help Others! Help the Team! Help Yourself!
- Provide PREMIUM customer service (this is our core)
- Give back to the local community
- Drive and determine logistics
- Create quotes and sell our services to prospective customers
- Remove items from homes and businesses, which may require some bagging, heavy lifting, and some demolition work (all necessary equipment provided)
- Think strategically and make quick decisions
- Connect with customers and show empathy during tough situations
- Impact our team culture positively
- Operate as a team with excellent communication skills
- Work hard as a team, rolling up your sleeves and getting the work done
- Maintain and reinforce a safety culture at The Junkluggers

WHEN YOU’LL WORK:
- Full day shifts, Saturdays
- Customer schedule is open Sat 8am-3pm.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Be reliable and show up for your scheduled shifts!
- Own a working smartphone
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Repeatedly lift 50-100 pounds
- Provide safety toe footwear and black work pants/shorts (uniform shirts, jacket, hat, and safety gear provided!)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must – this is a customer-facing role
- Ability to learn and use technology in the field to execute job requirements, quickly and efficiently
- Learn and master skills of both Navigator and Driver positions
- Exhibit a strong safety attitude and be assertive with others when enforcing safety practices and other company policies
- Confident and courageous in reporting infractions, accidents, or other issues to management
- Ability to influence and lead team(s) in the field and show potential for advancement
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
- For insurance purposes only, you must be a minimum of 24 years old to drive our trucks
- Valid Driver's License is a MUST!
- Have and maintain a good driving record, no moving violations in last 3 years
- CDL NOT Required
